I just laid down an rear end ton of hay, and forbade the animals from inside my walls. It says it doesn't work properly due to being discontinued but I have yet to have a problem with it. Smarter food selection! It also stops your animals from prioritizing meals, and instead they prioritize kibble or hay on their own.
